About N.A.P.S. Postpartum Support Circle
Transforming Postpartum Care
N.A.P.S. Postpartum Support Circle exists to provide families with compassionate care, education, and support during the postpartum season. Our approach is holistic, addressing the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of every family.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, holistic & evidence-based postpartum education and support that strengthens families and empowers parents to thrive.
Our Vision
Every family has access to the guidance, community, and care they need to navigate the fourth trimester with confidence and joy. We believe that the fourth trimesters starts in the prenatal so all of our services are geared towards preparing families in the prenatal and holding them in the postpartum.
The Founder
Chelawnta Lewis is the founder of N.A.P.S. Postpartum Support Circle, a wife, mother of four, and passionate advocate for family wellness.
I’m a Maternal Health Advocate passionately serving families in Kansas City. As a wife and mother of four, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with the transition into parenthood. For three years, I worked as a birth, labor and postpartum doula, providing hands-on care and emotional support to families during pregnancy, labor, and the tender weeks that follow birth. That sacred work laid the foundation for my current role, advocating for more equitable, compassionate, and culturally congruent maternal health systems.
In March 2025, I launched the N.A.P.S. Postpartum Support Circle, a community-rooted program designed to center the emotional, physical, and practical needs of families. Through N.A.P.S. Postpartum Support Circle, I provide culturally aligned education, healing spaces, and resource navigation to ensure that parents are held, heard, and supported throughout the fourth trimester and beyond.
Outside of N.A.P.S., I’ve served as the Vice President and facilitator of Chocolate Milk Café, a Black lactation organization supporting breastfeeding mothers. I also represent families as a Policy Committee member for MARC Head Start, where I advocate for equitable early childhood education and family-centered policies.
Drawing from my own experiences in motherhood, I integrates faith, professional knowledge, and lived experience to create safe, nurturing spaces where families can rest, heal, and grow. My mission is to ensure that every family feels supported and empowered in their postpartum journey.
